1885 Sutherland House, a Victorian Bed and Breakfast Inn, is located in the Finger Lakes Region of Central New York, in Canandaigua, New York.  Our beautiful 1885 Victorian Bed and Breakfast offers five guest room accommodations each with its own full private bath, for your convenience and enjoyment.

Henry C. Sutherland built this beautiful Victorian House in 1885.  He was the youngest of five brothers, all building their homes on Bristol Street. Henry C. raised beef cattle, was Vice President of the Canandaigua Tin Company and served on the Board of Directors for the Canandaigua First National Bank.

Inn Policies


 
  • Mid-week, multi-night, and corporate discounts available. 
  • Two night minimum on the weekend from May 15 to Dec 1. 
  • Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, ATM cards and personal checks are accepted. 
  • Travel Agent commissions okay. 
  • No Smoking.
  • A credit card number is required to hold your room. We do have a 2 week cancellation policy so if you need to cancel your stay and we are unable to re-book Your room, we will charge your card. A $25.00 cancellation fee will be imposed on any cancellation. We only have 5 guest rooms and frequently have to turn away other interested guests. We really do look forward to having you with us.
  • The second rate is for mid-week: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, unless a holiday. The second rate will apply if you book the same room for 4 nights in a row. 
  • All our rates are per night and are based on double occupancy.

Located minutes from the top of Canandaigua Lake, in the heart of the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of Central New York. Closest airport is Rochester International which is approximately 45 minutes west of here. Closest major highway is Interstate Route 90, The New York State Thruway

  • 90 minutes to Buffalo
  • 3 hours to Albany
  • 5 hours to NYC

 Directions 
 
From the New York State Thruway take Exit 44 to Route 332. Take Route 332 south directly into Canandaigua (about 5 miles). At the second traffic light after the railroad tracks turn right on Bristol Street. Go 2 miles; Sutherland House is on the left after you cross Route 5 & 20. Look for the sign. See you soon!
